Ray Fabius is co-founder and president of HealthNEXT – the emerging leader in building cultures of health. He spent the better part of two years researching benchmark employer, organizational and governmental efforts to shape its products and services.
Previously, Fabius served as chief medical officer of Truven Health Analytics and the health care business of Thomson Reuters. In that role, he was responsible for thought leadership, business strategy, client relations and clinical direction for one of the largest health informatics companies in the world. Fabius also served as strategic adviser for Walgreens Health & Wellness, assisting the company in its approach to population health. Before that, Fabius was president and CMO of CHD Meridian / i-TRAX Healthcare, a leading provider of workplace health solutions. Fabius was global medical leader at General Electric, responsible for the health and safety of more than 330,000 employees. He also served as corporate medical director of utilization, disease and quality management as well as e-health and health informatics for Aetna and U.S. Healthcare Inc. Fabius spent the first decade of his career building a primary care practice.
Dr. Fabius was the 2014 recipient of the Global Leadership in Corporate Health Award co-sponsored by the National Business Group on Health and the American college of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Fabius is a faculty member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the School of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University. He is the author of three books on quality management and population health – the latest one is a graduate / medical school textbook he co-authored, Population Health: Creating a culture of wellness (2010).
