Dr. Scheinbart earned his B.S. in Biology at the University of Michigan, his M.D. from The Ohio State University, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Florida Shands Hospital. Dr. Scheinbart practiced Hematology/Oncology with Melbourne Internal Medicine Associates (MIMA) and Health First (HF) for over 20 years. During that span, he served on MIMA’s Board of Directors and the Hospice of HF Board of Directors. Dr. Scheinbart was a founder of the William Childs Hospice House as well as the Medical Director for the Health First Cancer Institute. In 2018 he was awarded the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) credential and went on to serve as Vice President for Medical Affairs and the Chief Medical Officer at HF Hospitals, a division within the HF Integrated Delivery Network. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Scheinbart oversaw the Clinical Response Team for the entire Network and served as the co-leader of the Hospital Incident Command. In 2024 he was recognized as a Fellow within the American Association of Physician Leaders (AAPL).

Presently, Dr. Scheinbart serves as the Chief Health Affairs Officer and Assistant Professor of Leadership Development at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Scheinbart is focused on physician leadership development and his writings appear in several AAPL publications, including chapters in The Chief Medical Officer’s Essential Guidebook and I Want to Be a Chief Medical Officer along with articles in the Healthcare Administration Leadership & Management Journal (HALM) and the Physician Leadership Journal (PLJ). His upcoming book, A Chief Medical Officer’s Financial Primer, is due to be published through AAPL in July 2024. Dr. Scheinbart participates in a variety of CMO forums and summits across the US in roles such as lead moderator, speaker, and facilitator with particular attention to the role of Chief Medical Officer.
