Paul Esselman is President of Cejka Executive Search. Cejka Executive Search is the fifth largest health care executive search firm in the U.S., providing services exclusively to the health care industry for more than 30 years.
As President, Paul provides operational oversight and strategic direction for the Executive Search team. Additionally, Paul is responsible for managing all aspects of the search process, including candidate recruitment, interviewing and negotiations. In this role, Paul effectively merges his extensive management and health care expertise to successfully identify and evaluate the skills and competence of a health care executive.
With more than 20 years of health care experience, Paul has an exceptional understanding of the health care industry and has worked with executive leadership in hospitals and health systems, academic institutions, physician group practices, and managed care. He has managed profit and loss statements, operating budgets, multi-department strategic initiatives, and corporate restructuring. Paul employs successful recruitment strategies for building high-performing teams. He recognizes the critical leadership skills necessary for organizational success, the importance of clinical and financial outcomes, and the need for cultural fit. Paul’s dedication and commitment to his clients is reflected in the excellent scores he receives from client surveys.
Prior to joining Cejka Executive Search, Paul successfully led sales and marketing teams in the biotechnology industry for fifteen years. He has in-depth knowledge of hospitals, health systems and academic institutions on both the research and clinical side.
Paul is a member of MGMA and HFMA. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
