Mamta Gautam is president and CEO of PEAK MD Inc., which specializes in leadership resilience and wellness for professionals. She is also a psychiatrist, physician executive coach, author, consultant and speaker.
For more than 25 years, she has been a psychiatrist in private practice serving physicians in Ottawa. She is also a clinical professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. She is a specialist in physician health and well-being. She was founding director for the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine Wellness Program, which served as the template for the Canadian Medical Association Center for Physician Health and Wellbeing. She founded the International Alliance on Physician Health.She serves on the University of Ottawa ePhysician Health Advisory Committee and the RCPSC Physician Health Working Group. She is also leading an initiative to create a regional physician wellness program in the Champlain LHIN in Ontario.
She is immediate past president of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada and a past president of the Ontario Psychiatric Association. She has served on the board of the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders. She serves as a coach for physicians in leadership, assisting them with development and career transitions. She has spoken and taught at conferences in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia and conducted more than 1,000 seminars.
