Melissa Manwaring is a lecturer on negotiation and organizational behavior at Babson College. A former practicing attorney who has also taught courses at Harvard University and Simmons College, she was awarded the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016.
Before joining the Babson faculty, Manwaring had a robust legal and consulting career, working with start-ups and Fortune 500 companies including MARS Incorporated, General Electric, and Fidelity Investments. Upon moving into the academic sphere, Manwaring served an eight-year tenure as the director of curriculum development at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. In addition to lecturing, she has also served as Babson’s college-wide director of learning assessment.
With research interests in negotiation, teaching, learning, curriculum design, and ethics, as well as experience teaching in both live and online settings, Manwaring now chairs the Teaching Innovation Fund Committee at Babson College and is the education editor for Negotiation Journal.
Since 1975, the American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership, and community building.
The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
