Dr. Anna J Maddali has been the medical director in the National Medical Review Team (NMRT) under HGO division of Humana Inc. since 2014 with responsibility for utilization management for Medicare and Medicaid. Prior to joining NMRT, Dr. Maddali was part of the HSO division as a clinical advisor in Dublin, OH.
Dr. Maddali is part of the Technical Assessment Forum for Humana Medical Coverage Policy development and has helped develop a few medical coverage policies. Dr. Maddali has been facilitating team meetings for the past three months and was the test developer for the 2015 and 2016 Organization Outpatient (OP) IRR test.
Prior to joining Humana Inc. Dr. Maddali worked as managing Director of Mason Primary Care, Inc. – a six physician group practice which she founded as a solo practice in 2000. Dr. Maddali has also served in various hospital committees including Medical Executive committee, Credentialing committee and Ethics committee. Dr. Maddali’s diverse career leant her the opportunity to develop expertise in working with three separate major EMR systems and an overwhelming exposure to telemedicine technologies.
Dr. Maddali received her Doctor of Medicine degree at SV University, India and completed her residency in family medicine at Bethesda Hospital, Cincinnati, OH and became a member of American Association of Family Medicine. She then pursued an MBA at Xavier University, OH, is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the ACPE and additionally has a master’s in medical management (MMM) from Carnegie Mellon University, PA.
Since 1975, the American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership, and community building.
The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
