Dr. Stephanie Duggan Named Chair of AAPL’s Board of Directors

The American Association for Physician Leadership recently named Stephanie Duggan, MD, CPE, FACEP, FAAPL, as chair of its board of directors.

Duggan, regional president and CEO of Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Ascension Standish Hospital and Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas and an 18-year member of AAPL, was serving as vice chair of the board. She takes over for Ash R. Gokli, MD, CPE, FACEP, FAAPL, who will continue to serve on the board.

The new vice chair is Bruce Levy, MD, CPE, FAAPL, associate chief medical informatics officer for education and research at Geisinger. Levy was elected to the board in 2020.

J. Gregory Jolissaint, MD, MS, CPE, FAAPL, joins the board as chair of the Certifying Commission to Medical Management, in a nonvoting capacity, replacing Daniel A. Lace, MD, CPE, FAAPL.

Board members departing because of term limits include past chair Mark C. Lester, MD, MBA, CPE, FAANS, FACS, FAAPL; Linda Lawrence, MD, CPE, FACEP; and Gregg Davis, MD, MBA.
