Physician Entrepreneur and Founder: Leading Innovation with Vision, Building with Strategy

Webinar

Do you want to start a new venture that provides an innovative solution to an essential healthcare problem?

This one-hour webinar will show you how to get started. We will talk about what drives physicians to create new ventures, and present a case study from a successful physician entrepreneur. We will discuss the difference in mindset between being an executive in an established organization and a founder of a new venture. Then we will provide practical suggestions about how to identify a problem and generate ideas for solutions with long-term impact. We will highlight some of the legal considerations for physician entrepreneurs, including how to protect your intellectual property. Finally, we will consider how to build your team and structure a company, and provide time to answer your questions.

Whether you want to launch an innovative project within your organization or start a new company, this session will give you a range of ideas and tools to help you get started.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize unmet needs or inefficiencies within your area of practice that represent potential opportunities for an innovative venture.

  2. Describe the key early steps in developing a new venture, including validating an idea and assessing market fit.

  3. Formulate a personal action step to explore or advance a business idea within 30 days of the session.

For over 50 years.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
