Christopher Michael O'Connell, DO, CPE, FACHE, FAAPL, is the Vice President/Chief Medical Officer at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, and a board member for HELP, Inc. Dr. O'Connell served as the Chief Quality and Community Service Officer/Division Chief of Ambulatory Medicine at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI between 2012 and 2021. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University of Osteopathic Medicine since 2007 and served as a member of the Board of Directors for Macomb County Community Mental Health from 2017 to 2021. He earned a Master of Arts in Health Professions Education/Administration from Michigan State University in 2014. Dr. O'Connell earned his FACHE credential in June 2021 and his FAAPL credential in March 2023. An AAPL member since 2011, he was certified as a Physician Executive by CCMM in 2016.
