Healthcare Operations Management Academy

In-Person

The clinical advances in medicine in the last 25 years have been nothing short of astounding, yet the delivery of healthcare often comes up short. Emergency departments are still crowded, patients wait forever to get appointments, delays are commonplace. Everyone is trying to reinvent the wheel without the benefit of having the necessary skills to accomplish the task.

We would never allow physicians to practice medicine without the proper training. However, physicians assume leadership roles where they are expected to fix broken systems and design new care delivery systems with little to no formal education. The goal of this course is to provide a background and basis for sound operational management. Learn how to optimize workflows and design efficient, sustainable care delivery systems.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
