J. Gregory Jolissaint

MD, MS, CPE, FAAPL

CCMM Board Chair

Certifying Commission in Medical Management

J. Gregory (Greg) Jolissaint, MD, MS, CPE, FAAPL, first joined the AAPL Board in the Spring of 2015; during his six-year tenure, he served as the AAPL Board Chair and Governance Committee Chair prior to cycling off of the AAPL Board in the Summer of 2021. In the Spring of 2022, Greg was selected to serve as the Board Chair for the Certifying Commission in Medical Management (CCMM); this new role allows him to once again serve on the AAPL Board of Directors.

Dr. Jolissaint has been a student of leadership his entire adult life, and helping health care leaders succeed became his professional passion. He discovered the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) towards the end of his military medical career – and Greg still describes how pursuing and earning the Certified Physician Executive credential became the launch point of his post-military medical career.

Dr. Jolissaint enjoyed a professionally rewarding leadership career that included 28 years of active US Army military service, over 4 years’ service as a clinical Defense Contractor with General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), 3 years of successive senior leadership positions in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and 5 years of executive leadership positions in Trinity Health.

Dr. Jolissaint is Board Certified in Family Medicine and a Fellow in the American Association for Physician Leadership. Greg also serves on a variety of community and Catholic organizations, commissions, and boards.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
