Dr. Simmons is a clinical professor in Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine at University of Iowa Health Care. He is the Co-Chief of the Critical Care Medicine division of Anesthesia, Surgical Medical Director of the CVICU, Medical Director of the Special Pathogen Unit and Medical Director of the Hyperbaric Medicine Service. He has over 20 years of experience in critical care, including surgical, cardiovascular, neuro and medical critical care. The Special Pathogen Unit is a Level 2 NSPS facility
