Abstract

Physician engagement is a critical strategy for fostering stable relationships between physicians and hospitals, health systems, payers, and suppliers, essential for navigating the transformation of the healthcare delivery system. Engaged physicians contribute to enhanced patient care, cost efficiency, and improved patient safety. Effective engagement encompasses trust-building, mutual goals, power dynamics, structural bonds, and communication consistency. This comprehensive approach extends beyond traditional hospital settings to involve all stakeholders in the healthcare supply chain, ensuring mutual benefits and successful partnerships. Overcoming barriers such as organizational tone, external influences, and individual roles is crucial for achieving sustainable and productive relationships in healthcare.
