Abstract

The Physician Leadership Journal (PLJ), the flagship publication of the American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL), has been reimagined to address the evolving challenges of healthcare and physician leadership. With a legacy of 50 years of advancing leadership education, the journal reflects the complexities of modern healthcare delivery, including interprofessional collaboration, workforce transformation, and organizational leadership. This expanded iteration offers peer-reviewed research, practical review articles, credential analysis, and member spotlights, all designed to support physician leaders in navigating the multifaceted demands of their roles. Guided by the philosophy of CRISP — Continuous Renewal through Innovation and Seeking Perfection — the PLJ remains a vital resource for advancing the art and science of physician leadership.

LEADERSHIP IS LEARNED

For over 50 years.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
