American Association of Physician Leadership Names

WASHINGTON, DC – JUNE 23, 2022 -- The American Association for Physician Leadership recently named Stephanie Duggan, MD, CPE, FACEP, FAAPL, as chair of its board of directors.

Duggan, regional president and CEO of Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Ascension Standish Hospital, and Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas in Michigan, and an 18-year member of AAPL, was serving as vice chair of the board.  

AAPL also announced that the new vice chair is Bruce Levy, MD, CPE, FAAPL, associate chief medical informatics officer for education and research at Geisinger in Danville, Pennsylvania. Levy was elected to the board in 2020.

Two new board members were elected: 

  • Jimmy Y. Chung, MD, MBA, FACS, FABQUURP,  serves as chief medical officer of Advantus Health Partners (a subsidiary of Bon Secours Mercy Health).  
  • Saju Joy, MD, MBA, MS, CPE, senior vice president, system chief medical officer, and chief physician executive for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation.  

J. Gregory Jolissaint, MD, MS, CPE, FAAPL, joins the board in a non-voting capacity as chair of the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. He is vice president of military and veterans’ health for Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health System in Maryland.
