Futura and Garamond have been chosen for their unique fit together. Futura is one of the first typefaces whose letters are based on the idea of “pure” geometry, which lends well to the philosophy of leadership. The combination of Futura and Garamond is based on a unity of opposites. Despite differences in orgigin and character, they combine brilliantly, thanks to their proportions, to form a powerful typographic ensemble with a rich range of possibilities.

The logo consists of five squares, AAPL logotype, tagline and the registered trademark symbol, designated by a superscript ®. As shown below, these four elements must always be reproduced together. The logo should not be redrawn, digitally manipulated or altered.
The logo must always be reproduced from a digital master reference.
It should appear on all association materials. It is representative of our brand, so it must be used correctly.
The logo appears in three color variants. Version A is for use on white. Version B for use on color or busy backgrounds. Version C is for use with Lx Solutions product offerings only.
This version should occur only once per piece. For instance, on a mulipage piece the tag would go on the cover, but the standard logo would be used for the back cover.
All logos come with a tagline variant. The tagline variant should be used sparingly — and generally on content focused on new customers.
In order to maximize its visual presence, the logo requires area around it clear of any other graphic elements or text.
The minimum left and right exclusion zone is equal to the width of the four-square icon. The minimum top and bottom exclusion zone is half the height of the four-square icon. Always allow at least this amount of clear space around the logo. It is important that this rule is observed and the exclusion zone is maintained at all times.
The recommended minimum clearance is to protect the logo. The logo will appear on many different applications and formats and this will help to give it clarity and presence . This is not a placement guide. It is a minimum only.
Lx Solutions is the B2B product offering from the American Association for Physician Leadership. When creating collateral for B2B Lx Solutions should be referencef and the AAPL logo should be the orange varient.
The registration mark (superscript ®) should be used only on the first instance of the American Association for Physician Leadership on a page or document. Subsequent mentions do not need the registration mark. Do not use registration mark if the first reference is simply "the association" or "the organization" or similar.
