Napoleon Knight is the medical director of the Rural Alliance for Health Care Excellence for the Carle Health System. In that role he serves as the department head of emergency medicine at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, Illinois; provides administrative oversight for the emergency physicians and hospitalist physicians at Kirby Medical Center in Monticello, Illinois; and works with the Carle Strategic Business Development Division and the organization's strategic regional partners. Other roles he has served at Carle include vice president and senior medical director of regional partner relationships at Health Alliance Medical Plans in Urbana, Illinois; medical director of hospital medicine and associate medical director of quality for Carle Hospital and Carle Physician Group, as well as VPMA/CMO at Carle Foundation Hospital.
He is a board-certified emergency physician and has worked clinically at Carle since 1990. Significant board member experience includes University of Illinois Community Credit Union, Prosperity Garden, Champaign County Medical Society, Hope for the Children, Illinois College of Emergency Physicians and the Carle Foundation Board.
