Lisa Laurent, MD MBA MS CPE FAAPL serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) and is Chief Medical Officer at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, North Dakota. Recently retired from clinical practice, Dr. Laurent was President of the Medical Staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois as well as President of Advanced Radiology Consultants within Integrated Imaging Consultants during which time she was an adult and pediatric radiologist, long-standing shareholder and Board member.
A graduate of Smith College, Dr. Laurent received her medical degree from Drexel University Medical School (formerly The Medical College of Pennsylvania) and completed her diagnostic radiology residency training at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center/University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston followed by a cross-sectional imaging fellowship at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Harvard Medical School. She earned her MBA from the University of Wisconsin where she served as President of the Sigma Gamma Zeta II Honor Society for outstanding scholastic achievement and was the keynote speaker for the 2012 Honor Society Awards Banquet. Dr. Laurent has a Masters in Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety Management from the Jefferson College of Population Health.
Dr. Laurent recently filmed the first series of her upcoming Better Health podcast, a lively and engaging interactive interview format created to increase awareness about issues important to the patients and communities in and around Bismarck. She and her husband, a busy general surgeon, are avid fly fishermen who travel to remote corners of the world to fuel their passion and reconnect with nature… and each other.
