Course Description

Effective governance is the goal for group practice board members. You’ll learn the skills you need to build consensus and lead with confidence. You’ll gain invaluable information and tools during this "hands-on" session, including the differences in leading at the board level — governance vs. management — and key responsibilities of board members, particularly in quality management and error reduction. You'll learn to make the decisions that will move your group ahead of the competition.
Other skills and leadership qualities you’ll address:
  • Reconciling generational issues of your partners and associates.
  • Financial reports that really matter.
  • Controlling costs and increasing revenue sources.
  • Performance and behavioral standards.
  • Managing disruptive and impaired physicians.
  • Running more effective board meetings.
This is a course in the Health IT Leadership Certificate program.
